Privacy Policy

PetWrite is operated by Trufyre Technologies Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), based in Australia. We are the data controller for the information described here. This policy is written to sit alongside the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles, and, where they apply to you, the GDPR and UK GDPR.

• Account details. Your email address, a display name and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information that provider shares with us. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes by our authentication provider, never by us in readable form.
• Pet and record content. Everything you choose to write down: pet names, species, breed, birthdays, weights, vaccinations, medicines, vet visits, grooming, journal entries, moods, photos and any documents you attach.
• Preferences. Your chosen tone of voice, reminder settings and plan information.
• Technical information. Log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and timestamps, used to keep the service secure and working.
• Optional analytics. Only if you agree through the cookie banner.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and PetWrite is not intended for children. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

• To give you the service you asked for (performance of our contract with you): storing your records, showing your timeline, sending reminders.
• With your consent: optional analytics cookies, optional product emails, and the AI features described below. You can withdraw consent at any time.
• Our legitimate interests: keeping the service secure, preventing abuse, fixing faults and improving PetWrite.
• Legal obligations: where we must keep or disclose information by law.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not use your pet's records or photos for advertising.

Some features are optional and only run when you tap them, such as scanning a vaccination card or drafting a life story entry. When you use them, the text or image you submit is sent to our AI processing provider to produce the result and is returned to you. We instruct our provider to process that content only to deliver the result and not to use it to train their models. AI output can be wrong, so always check it against the original document before relying on it.

We share information only with service providers who help us run PetWrite, under contract and only for that purpose:

• Our cloud hosting, database, authentication and file storage provider.
• Our AI processing provider, for the optional features above.
• Email delivery, if we send you a service message.
• People you deliberately share with, such as a sitter, a family member or a vet, when you generate a share card, an export or a handoff link.

Some providers store or process data outside Australia. Where they do, we rely on contractual protections such as standard contractual clauses. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of people using PetWrite.

We keep your account and records for as long as your account is open. If you delete content, it is removed from the app immediately and purged from backups within 30 days. If you close your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records to meet a legal obligation.

Access to your records is restricted to your account through row level security rules, traffic is encrypted in transit, and uploaded photos and documents are held in a private store reachable only through signed links. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and tell us straight away if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

• Access a copy of your information, or export any record from the app.
• Correct anything that is wrong, directly in the app or by asking us.
• Delete a record, a pet, or your whole account.
• Withdraw consent for analytics, AI features or product emails.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, and ask for portability of your data.

Write to support@petwrite.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not happy with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, or to your local data protection authority.

Essential cookies keep you signed in and keep the service secure, and cannot be switched off without breaking the app. Optional analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the banner. You can change your mind by clearing your browser storage for this site, which brings the banner back.

If we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top and, where the change matters to you, tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use PetWrite after that means you accept the updated policy. See also our Terms of Use.
